"Hi Everyone at New Ken Animal Protectors.

Thank you so very much for everything you do and especially for allowing Veronica and I to adopt Hooch in mid-July.  He is the best dog anyone could wish for.  
I wanted to give everyone a status report on just how well he is doing.  The first 30 minutes after we arrived home with Hooch, he was a bundle of energy running around and jumping on/off furniture. As you had told us, the family who had previously adopted Hooch sadly needed to return him since he was humping the family’s young son.  Well, naturally the first 30 minutes in our household with me and Veronica, he tried the same (likely from excitement and anxiety).  A few harsh “NO” and pushing him off that first day, and that was that.  No more humping!!  

He had his first visit with the vet at the end of July and came out with a clean bill of health with the exception of fleas and and ear infection.  Some antibiotic ear ointment and a flea collar cleared those 2 issues up in no time!  Veronica and I changed his call name to Bruce (sounds much like Hooch) and he answers to the name Bruce.  All the neighbors say hello to Bruce during our morning and evening walks and our USPostal woman has bonded with Bruce so he looks forward to her arrival everyday.

Bruce had a one on one training session so he could learn to walk a bit better without tugging/pulling.  Spectacular!  What an A+ student he is.  A harness and a whistle have done wonders to keep him on task with walking gently, yet I must admit that seeing a squirrel still provides Bruce with outstanding focus and desire to run the critter down (or up the tree trunk as will be the case sometimes).  We continue working on that squirrel sensation, but it will be a long term thing.  I mean, what dog can resist running down a squirrel - right?

So, thanks again.  We are settled into our routine and Bruce loves his hugs, cuddles and naps.  We are grateful for him being part of our family."

"Now Lady, who first 4 years was pretty much around women has fallen in love with my husband. She follows him around religiously.
She loves the outdoors and has plenty of acres to run and explore.
We finally got her to feel comfortable with us and she knows she belongs here now.
We adore her and she can be quite humorous."

"Pip has been such a wonderful addition to our family. We adopted him in October 2019 so we have had him for almost a year. He is so loveable but can also be feisty at times. He loves to sit with Ricky because he gets extra treats. He also loves to play with his grey mouse. 
Also, we kept his name as Pip but expanded it to : Professor Ichabod Puddington, however we typically call him by his nickname "Beans" because he has the cutest little toe beans."
