Make a Donation to Animal Protectors Thank you to our 2011 Official Tails on the Trails Dog Walk Sponsors!
The trails are empty, the vendors have packed up and the dogs are still snoozing after their adventurous nature walk. We cannot thank our supporters enough for making our 2011 walk a huge success – the shelter animals are grateful that you and your canine companions walked in their honor
***Adoption Special! Now through the end of the year, all of our animals will be adopted at 50% off of the regular adoption price. We are always in great need of foster parents for both cats and dogs - we really need you. If you’ve ever wanted to do some volunteer work or make a difference in your community, consider helping us with our stewardship toward our animals, our little friends. Please, come be a foster parent. Stop by the shelter to fill out a simple application. Read more about our shelter animals in need and why fostering is so important.
We are happy to serve the New Kensington Community not only as the city’s animal control, but also with a few low cost options to keep your pets happy and safe. Who We Are We are a no-kill, non-profit shelter located in New Kensington, PA. Our shelter is always full of animals, many which are strays. Our shelter is a constant stream of activity. New animals are examined for possible problems, medical charts are checked and medication is administered, when needed. Cat cages and dog kennels are cleaned daily. From the time the shelter opens until it closes, there's a constant flurry of cleaning, feeding, exercising, cuddling, caring. Fresh food, water, litter boxes, and blankets are placed in each cage daily.
Volunteers
Needed! Our shelter is always in need of dedicated and caring animal lovers who are willing to sacrifice their time to help care for our many dogs and cats that reside at the shelter. Volunteers are needed to help walk and bathe dogs, socialize cats, aid in animal transportation to vet appointments and shelter events, and more! If you have the time to help an animal in need, please contact the shelter at 724-339-7388 for volunteer information. Working with our animals is truly a rewarding experience! |
