For too many months, our shelter lawn mower has been picky about when it will work for our dedicated maintenance volunteers. We’ve replaced part after part, and finally decided that it was time to seek quotes on a new mower. As we were searching, Mr. George from the Tarentum Fraternal Order of the Eagles heard of our need and provided a great blessing to us. Under his guidance, the Eagles donated brand new lawn mower to our shelter.
We cannot thank Mr. George and the F.O.E. for their kindness and generosity. Not only did they donate the lawn mower, they personally loaded and delivered it to the shelter. Now, because of their kindness, we will not have to worry about the upkeep of our property and the appearance of our shelter from the road. Plus, with this wonderful new tool, we will always have a clear and safe walkway for our dog walkers and shelter guests. The grass is definitely greener now – and almost always freshly cut!
Dogs big and small are often seen strutting their stuff in furry sweaters, boots and bandanas – how about a Blue Thong!? While it’s likely that most furry creatures would be uncomfortable sporting a blue thong, that’s not a concern for Animal Protectors (AP) and the local chapter of Blue Thong Society (BTS).
This year, in an effort to raise funds for Animal Protectors general fund, Nancy Weaver of the local Blue Thong Society is working her magic to collect gift cards for the shelter’s annual $1,000 Gift Card Raffle.
