Low Cost Spay and Neuter Mobile Unit

Animal Protectors and Animal Friends have teamed up to offer New Kensington and our surrounding communities a low cost spay and neuter mobile unit. Due to space limitations, surgeries will be performed on cats only. Cost is $30 per cat and includes surgery and a rabies vaccination. Cats may be domestic or feral.
Please call the shelter at 724-339-7388 for additional information. Applications are due on September 1, 2010. Keep in mind that pre-payment and pre-registration is required.

Donated baked goods may be dropped off at the Shelter or the Plaza on Friday, September 17 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. or bring to the bake sale on Saturday, September 18 between 10 a.m. and noon.

Help us educate the public on being a responsible dog owner! The Golden Triangle Irish Setter Club is sponsoring this great event and has picked Animal Protectors to benefit from their food drive (cash donations will be donated as food donations).
There will be different breeds available throughout the day for spectators to see and ask breed-specific questions.
We will have baskets to raffle, one dog and one cat.
Handouts from AKC on being a responsible dog owner, along with other AKC information will be available. Information on performance, basic obedience, rescue and therapy dogs will be available.
Representatives from Animal Protectors will be on hand for questions about adopting shelter pets and being a responsible pet owner.

Animal Protectors will be participating in a gathering of over 100 shelter and breed-rescue groups at the South Side works in Pittsburgh. The event, sponsored by the Coalition to Adopt, Rehome and Match Abandoned Animals (CARMAA) is sure to be fun and informational. Join us and other local shelters as we celebrate and show off our shelter animals as they wait for their forever homes.
