Thank you! If you have questions regarding our adoptable dogs or cats, most information can be found in our Adoption section of the website. Prior to inquiring about one of our animals, please take a moment to review this page. Animal Protectors is not an open door shelter. Shelters with open-door policies accept every animal regardless of shelter space. Animal Protectors is a no-kill shelter. We work primarily with dogs and cats in the New Kensington area that have been found running at large, as strays, or as abuse cases. When the shelter is full to capacity, we can no longer accept any more animals. Animals are cared for at Animal Protectors until they are found loving and safe homes. Animal Protectors recommends that you have your pet
spayed or neutered. All animals from our shelter are
spayed or neutered, and this cost is included in the
adoption fee. Below is a listing of local spay and
neuter programs in the area. There are many ways to get involved with our shelter. Please email us or call the shelter at 724-339-7388 for volunteer information, and to set up an orientation appointment. We hope to see you soon!
